BBC tries on Pressure Pad

UK pubcaster the BBC has commissioned a 25x45mins gameshow set in a “stunning high tech set”.

Pressure Pad will launch on BBC One in the autumn, with ITV Studios-owned 12 Yard Productions attached.

Actor and broadcaster John Barrowman will host the series, which is set in a ‘quizzing amphitheatre’ with an under floor high-res LED screen that puts players under pressure throughout their game. Two teams go head-to-head in a series of “tense and fast-moving” games with their options, time limit and prize fund displayed on the ground.

BBC Daytime and Early Peak controller Damian Kavanagh and commissioning executive editor Pam Cavannagh ordered the series, which Liz Gaskell and James Woolley developed. Zoe Tait is producer, with Michael Mannes, Andy Culpin and Matt Walton executive producing for 12 Yard, the production company behind the likes of Eggheads, Perfection and In it to Win it.
