News brief: FIC launches Chinese ents news series

Fox International Channels has created a bi-weekly entertainment news series for Chinese movie network SCM.

SCM Cine launched over the weekend in a primetime slot, as part of an SCM initiative, Go Local!, to support the Hong Kong film industry.

The show is being broadcast in Asia and Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, the US and Canada. It follows local celebrity Helen To, who interviews prominent producers and actors and showcases local film news.

The series represents FIC’s latest step in a strategy to produce more original programming for the Asian market.
