Fox launches streaming in Turkey, preps other launches

NatGeo_Turkey_iPadFox International Channels (FIC) has launched a new streaming service in Turkey in partnership with its existing affiliate partner Teledunya.

The new service, NatGeo Play, will make full episodes of the best of National Geographic programmes including Taboo, Doomsday Preppers, Mega Factories and Car SOS available on PCs and iPads.

NatGeo Play will be exclusively available for Teledunya’s premium extended package subscribers. The app is available free to download from the Apple App Store.

FIC will look to extend the new service to other European markets in collaboration with its existing affiliate partners in each territory.

NatGeo Play was developed in-house by FIC Europe’s digital media team.

New episode will be added each month in line with new releases on the main channel, and popular programmes will be made available on-demand. The servie will also feature additional content including behind-the-scenes clips, photo galleries and the channel’s TV listings.

“We are very pleased with the first launch of NatGeo Play in Turkey in partnership with Teledunya. The digital evolution is changing our habits very fast and you are no longer restricted to the traditional television. Now subscribers can conveniently access high quality National Geographic programs on multiple digital platforms,” said Sergio Falcón, vice-president, digital media at FIC Europe and Africa. “At FIC, we want to satisfy the demand of streamed content with innovative products and services, always developed by us and launched in collaboration with our affiliate partners.”
