News brief: Cake head of marketing leaves company

David Furness has left his position as head of marketing at Cake Entertainment.

He has been at the kids distributor for three years and told TBI that he was not immediately going to another TV company, but aims to remain in the industry.

Tania Reed from Cake’s sales team will cover Furness’s role in the short term.

Prior to Cake, Furness served a four year stint as a marketing executive at BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK public broadcaster.
