Celestial Tiger ups chief exec

Asian pay TV operator Celestial Tiger Entertainment has promoted its president and COO to CEO.

Former Sony Pictures Television channels exec Todd Miller joined CTE in January last year as COO upon the merger of Celestial Pictures’ channels business with Lionsgate- and Saban Capital Group-backed Tiger Gate Entertainment.

He will now head up the company as chief exec and continue to report into the CTE board.

Since he joined CTE, it has secured 27 carriage agreements for channels such as KIX HD and Celestial Movies; and 10 over-the-top services launches across 16 territories.

“Todd has shown great leadership in integrating two companies into a highly efficient organisation with a powerful bouquet of channels and a flourishing licensing business,” said Adam Chesnoff, president and COO of Saban Capital and CTE board chairman.

“As CEO, we look forward to Todd continuing Celestial Tiger’s momentum by expanding its channel bouquet, building brand equity, propelling the licensing business and building strategic partnerships.”
