Pivot attends Little Mosque

Upcoming issues-themed US cable channel Pivot has acquired all six seasons of Canadian comedy series Little Mosque, which features the lives of ordinary Muslims living the West.

The deal for the Westwind Pictures-produced show gives Pivot six seasons comprising 91 episodes of the show, which first debuted on CBC.

Little Mosque has met critical acclaim and broadcast in more than 90 territories. It now will join Participant Media-owned Pivot’s launch slate in August.

“In the tradition of great TV comedy, it uses a unique brand of humor to spark important conversations, and its characters challenge certain American preconceptions about faith and tolerance. We’re proud to be the first network to bring the show to TV in the US,” said Pivot’s president, Evan Shapiro.
