Sky acquires Warner Bros’ Revolution

British pay TV broadcaster Sky has acquired Warner Bros-distributed action drama Revolution.

The series, which is exec produced by JJ Abrams, is arguably the most successful US drama to be launched by the broadcast networks earlier this year.

The show, which airs on NBC, will air on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD. It will join other Sky US acquisitions including Arrow and The Following.

The drama, which stars Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human), Graham Rogers (Struck by Lighting), Billy Burke (Twilight), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), David Lyons (The Cape) and JD Pardo (Drive).

The deal was brokered by Sarah Wright, BSkyB’s controller of acquisitions and Lucy Criddle, senior acquisitions manager, Sky Entertainment.
