Debbie Back resurfaces at Sonar Entertainment

US producer and distributor Sonar Entertainment has hired former Nat Geo and MTV exec Debbie Back.

Back has been named senior vice president, North American sales at the company formerly known as RHI. She will report to David Ozer, executive vice president, head of global sales and will be responsible for selling Sonar series and television movies to broadcasters in the United States and Canada.

She joins from National Geographic Kids Entertainment, where she was head of worldwide sales since September 2010. Before Nat Geo, she briefly worked at a joint venture between Nat Geo and Handmade Films before it collapsed, and previously she was in charge of international sales at MTV Networks International, the company now known as Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN).

“Debbie Back brings an outstanding record of sustained success in international program sales to this new position,” said Ozer. “Her work with iconic brands, her leadership skills and her experience across all age and genre categories make her a tremendous asset to our team.”
