Lifetime orders reality series My Life is a Lifetime Movie

US cable network Lifetime has commissioned a reality series My Life is a Lifetime Movie, a meta look at the impact of the channel’s own television movies.

The A+E Networks-owned broadcaster will launch the seven episode series in October and the company’s international sales arm will handle global distribution.

My Life is a Lifetime Movie is produced by DiGa, the production company set up by former MTV executives Liz Gately and Tony DiSanto, who have worked on series including Jersey Shore, The Hills and Teen Wolf.

The reality series will look at the cultural impact of Lifetime’s television movies, often women-in-peril stories, including My Stepson, My Lover, The Pregnancy Pact and Mom at 16.
