Endemol has acquired US reality production company Authentic Entertainment, the outfit behind Ace of Cakes and Toddlers and Tiaras.
The international production and distribution outfit has acquired a majority share in the producer, which was founded by Lauren Lexton and Tom Rogan in 2000 and produces more than 200 hours of programming per year.
This continues Endemol’s expansion move through acquisitions and follows the purchase of US producers Original Media and 51 Minds, as well as a raft of international companies including Tiger Aspect and Darlow Smithson in the UK and Southern Star in Australia.
“This acquisition further strengthens our presence in North America and represents another significant addition to our global network. The agreement with Authentic Entertainment in the USA is in line with Endemol’s global growth strategy of combining organic growth and expansion through acquisitions,” says Endemol chief executive and chairman Ynon Kreiz.
