C4 commissons raft of AFP series

Channel 4 has commissioned a number of new advertiser funded programmes (AFP) from UK indie Boomerang and has renewed a raft of existing series.

The British broadcaster is to launch Quiksilver’s Tony Hawk European Tour, a 3x30mins and 1x1hour skateboarding series and Red Bull-funded magazine format series Elements, which looks at the wildest extreme sports around.

Both shows will air later this year.

The channel has also recommissioned 5x30mins breakdancing Sony Ericssion World B-boy series, 5x30mins Sony Playstation / Nissan GT Academy, which turns gaming enthusiasts into qualified motor racing drivers, and Roxy Jam Biarritz, which follows the Women’s World Longboard Championship.

These deals come as advertising funded programming increases with free-to-air broadcasters opening more spots in their schedules.
