W Network to launch Canadian Come Dine With Me

Canadian broadcaster W Network is to produce a local version of hit British cooking format Come Dine With Me after striking a deal with distributor ITV Studios.

Come Dine With Me Canada will be produced by local indie Proper Television, which was set up by former BBC producer Guy O’Sullivan, and will start filming this summer ahead of its fall launch.

The Corus Entertainment-owned W Network previously aired finished episodes of the British series before striking the format deal. This deal will see the cooking format, which follows five amateur chefs competing to become the ultimate party host, produced locally in 20 territories with more than 4,000 episodes.
