John De Mol’s Talpa Media is teaming with Warner Bros to create formats for the US market. Talpa will work with Warner’s cable series production unit, Warner Horizon Television, and develop series for the US based on its catalogue of formats.
The deal gives Warner Horizon exclusive rights to develop successful Talpa formats, with Talpa, for the US. The announcement was made by Talpa’s John De Mol and Peter Roth, president of Warner Bros. Television.
Warner Horizon makes reality series including The Bachelor and The Bachelorette and has produced numerous series for US cable and broadcast networks.
Talpa has already had some success in the US with its Dating in the Dark recently renewed for a second season on US broadcast net ABC. Other shows that have proved popular in Europe include the gameshow I Love My Country, The Golden Cage and Viper’s Nest.
