RDF inks volume deal down under

RDF has inked a volume deal with Australia’s XYZnetworks. The UK-based super-indie has agreed a multiyear agreement with XYZ, which operates a bouquet of pay TV channels in Australia including LifeStyle Channel, Channel [V], , MAX, Country Music Channel and The Weather Channel.

The deal will stretch to at least 300 hours of first-run content, which XYZ is licensing on an exclusive basis.

RDF, which said XYZ is one of its biggest clients, already sells several of its shows to XYZ channels including Location, Location, Location and Wife Swap, which air on the Lifestyle channels.

“RDF is an important strategic partner and supplies many of our key shows.  RDF consistently provides shows so well to brief that we wanted to further formalise our arrangements,” said Bruce Mann, CEO, XYZnetworks.

XYZ is co-owned by Australia’s twp pay TV operators, Foxtel and Austar. As well as running a bouquet of its own channels it handles distribution of other offerings, including the Discovery Channel and Nickelodeon, in Australia.
