AETN’s UK crime channel commissions eight shows

AETN’s UK Crime and Investigation channel has commissioned eight new series and specials. The channel, which is a joint venture between AETN and BSkyB, has ordered the new shows from a range of UK indie producers.

Recently installed AETN UK managing director Tom Davidson announced the slew of new programming, which comes just ahead of the pay TV channel’s third anniversary.

The new programming is a mix of series and one-offs. The series line up starts with Unicorn-produced Living with Murder, a 6x1hr series examining how the families of murder victims have coped with the tragedy.

Killer in the Family is another 6x1hr series, produced by True North Productions, about murderers who have targeted other members of their own families. A third series is Britain’s Biggest Heist, from Title Role, is a 5x1hr series looking at the biggest robberies to have taken place in the UK.

One-offs include Crime Scene Insects, a 1hr doc from Crocodile Media about crime scene entomology. There is also Below the Radar-produced The Wolfman, about the notorious serial killer. Finally, Athena Films is making a special about women who marry convicts on death row, Death Row Dates.

CI is part of AETN UK, which also manages CI and other AETN channels in Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
