Spike pilots Peep Show

US cable network Spike TV has just finished production on the pilot of UK comedy format Peep Show.

The decision of whether to launch a multi-episode run of the remake will be made over the next few weeks.

Pangea, the scripted programming arm of RDF USA, produced the pilot for the Viacom-owned broadcaster, while Malcolm in the Middle and The Simpsons producer David Richardson exec produced the series along with creators of the original series Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong.

All3Media-owned producer Objective Productions produced the British series for Channel 4 and is set to launch its sixth season. The point of view show, which airs in the US via BBC America, follows two housemates, one uptight and one lazy, as they struggle to live together.

The move is a slight departure for male skewing channel Spike, which usually airs action thrillers and series such as Late Night Strip and The Ultimate Fighter.
